AI and Burnout
I’ve been working with a long-time client to identify opportunities to use AI to increase productivity (we found plenty!) and I was struck by how many burnout-inducing tasks were present in that particular support organization, and I know they are not alone!
Most of these tasks are essentially invisible to the leadership team but I bet you can find some in your own organization. Here’s a sample to get you going:
- Reconciling spreadsheets created by other organizations that highlight various inconsistencies between systems.
- Receiving performance reports that don’t highlights high points, low points, or trends–or do anything to suggest actions to be taken as a result of the trends.
- Having to sift through information stored in multiple systems to detect impacts on training curriculum.
- Serving as a human cut-and paste systems to alert partners of special situations.
- Pulling the same data every month from the same disconnected systems to create the same status deck.
I have a lot of empathy for the luckless staff members who drudge through these thankless tasks. In many cases, the real solution is to change the underlying process, to connect disparate tools, to write a better report. But in the meantime, we were able to make many people much happier by inserting a little AI in their day.
Have you tried AI solutions to ward off burnout? Please share in the comments.
